# Pricing for users

**Bottom line:** Users pay per session, and no subscription is needed to book. Each therapist sets their own rate, from ₦4,000 a session. Mytherapist.ng Prime is an optional membership from ₦1,000 a month that removes reschedule and cancellation fees and includes free 30-minute intro sessions.

## Session prices

- Each therapist sets their own price per session. It is shown on their profile and again at checkout, before you pay.
- A standard session is 60 minutes.
- There is no sign-up fee.

## Couples sessions

Therapists who take couples set a separate couples price. It is shown on their profile and at checkout. Only some therapists take couples.

## Group therapy

The therapist who leads a circle sets its price, within a range Mytherapist.ng sets: ₦5,000 to ₦50,000 a month, whatever the cadence. Members pay by the block: 4 sessions for a weekly circle, 2 for a fortnightly one, from the wallet or by card, charged a few days before each block. Prime members pay 20% less for every block. ## Student rates

Verified students pay a therapist's student rate, where the therapist offers one.

- Each therapist decides whether to offer a student rate and sets it. A therapist with no student rate charges students their normal price.
- Student rates apply to individual sessions only, and show on the profile with no code to enter.
- Verification is free and lasts 12 months. See [Student discount](https://mytherapist.ng/support/guides/student-discount).

## Free intro sessions

Free 30-minute intro sessions are a Prime benefit.

- Prime members get up to 3 per calendar month.
- An intro must be your first session with that therapist, and an individual session.
- Only therapists who offer intros can be booked this way.
- A cancelled or declined intro does not count against the 3.
- Without Prime, every session is charged at the therapist's price, including the first.

## Booking anonymously

Booking anonymously adds ₦500 to a session. It is free for Prime members, and it is not charged on sessions your employer covers. It is not available when an HMO pays.

Both plans include the same benefits for every member: up to 3 free intro sessions a month, no reschedule or cancellation fees, free anonymous booking, premium meditations, breathing programmes and journal templates, custom mood reasons, and unlimited unopened future letters. Prime does not pay for therapy sessions.

You pay for Prime by debit card or direct debit, or redeem a Prime gift code. Prime renews automatically until you turn auto-renew off. An active membership cannot be cancelled early, and the time left is not refunded. A plan change takes effect at the next renewal, with no proration. ## Reschedule and cancellation fees

- The app shows the exact fee before you confirm.
- Reschedule fees are paid from your wallet.
- A session cannot be cancelled once its start time has passed.

## Refunds

All refunds go to your Mytherapist.ng wallet. They are never paid back to a card or bank account. Wallet balance does not expire, and you can spend it on any session.

A refund is based on what you actually paid, not the listed price. After a large promo discount, the ₦1,000 minimum cancellation fee can leave a refund of ₦0. If someone else paid from their sponsor wallet, the refund goes to their wallet. If you delete your account, any wallet balance is forfeited. ## Ways to pay

- **Wallet balance**, used first when it covers the amount.
- **Card**, processed by Paystack.
- **Bank transfer**, to top up your wallet through a dedicated account number.
- **Promo codes**, which take a percentage or a fixed amount off a booking.
- **A sponsor's wallet**, or **employer or HMO cover**. Covered sessions cost you ₦0.
