Cookie Policy

Last updated 19 August 2026

This page lists the cookies and similar technologies used on mytherapist.ng, what each one is for, and how to switch off the ones that are not essential. It covers this website. The privacy policy covers what we do with personal information generally, including inside the mobile apps.

A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. Some are set by us, some by the companies whose tools we use. We also use browser storage, which works the same way from your point of view, so it is listed here too.

Stored by us on this site

These are kept in your browser's local storage, not sent to us automatically. Clearing site data in your browser removes all of them, and nothing here stops you using the site.

NameWhat it holdsWhyKept for
@MY_THERAPIST@ASSESSMENT_LEVELThe band your last self-assessment fell into, such as low or moderate.Shows your result on the results page after the quiz.Until you clear site data
@MY_THERAPIST@ASSESSMENT_PERCENTAGEYour score on that assessment, as a percentage.Same as above.Until you clear site data
@MY_THERAPIST@TEMP_EMAILThe email address you typed if you asked for your assessment result by email.Carries it to the results page so you type it once.Until you clear site data
@MY_THERAPIST@SELECTED_THERAPISTWhich therapist profile you were last looking at.Keeps your choice while you move between pages.Until you clear site data
mt-decks-unlocked-v1That you have already requested our partner decks. So the request form does not ask you a second time.Until you clear site data

Assessment results stay in your browser. Taking a screening quiz does not create an account and does not send your answers to us unless you ask for the result by email. If you are on a shared computer, clearing site data removes them.

Analytics

These tell us which pages people read and where they struggle. We use them in aggregate — to decide what to write and what to fix, not to build a profile of you.

NameSet byPurposeKept for
_ga, _ga_*Google Analytics 4 (G-1P6T45ZVKM)Counts visits and page views, and distinguishes one browser from another.Up to 2 years
_gid, _gatGoogle Analytics 4Distinguishes visitors over a short window and limits how often data is sent.24 hours or less
Google Tag ManagerGoogleLoads the tags listed on this page. It sets no cookies of its own, and is only active when configured for the environment. Not applicable

Advertising

These let us measure whether an advert led to someone booking a session, and avoid showing adverts to people who already have. This is the category most people want to turn off, and the section below explains how.

NameSet byPurposeKept for
_fbp, _fbcMeta Pixel (1037510065541942)Attributes a visit or a booking to a Facebook or Instagram advert.Up to 90 days
_gcl_*Google AdsAttributes a booking to a Google advert.Up to 90 days

We never attach a health condition, an assessment result, a therapist name or anything you have written to an advertising event. What is sent is that a booking or a sign-up happened, with contact details reduced to an irreversible hash.

Support and personalisation

NameSet byPurposeKept for
intercom-*IntercomRuns the support chat widget and keeps your conversation open between pages.Up to 9 months
KeakKeakKeeps you on the same version of a page while we test which wording is clearer.Up to 1 year

How to turn these off

Every browser can block or delete cookies — look for Privacy or Site settings in its preferences. Blocking the analytics and advertising ones will not stop you booking a session or using any part of the site.

Changes and questions

We update this page when we add or remove a tool, and the date at the top changes with it. If something here is unclear, or you want to know what we hold about you, write to [email protected].
