This page lists the cookies and similar technologies used on mytherapist.ng, what each one is for, and how to switch off the ones that are not essential. It covers this website. The privacy policy covers what we do with personal information generally, including inside the mobile apps.
A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. Some are set by us, some by the companies whose tools we use. We also use browser storage, which works the same way from your point of view, so it is listed here too.

These are kept in your browser's local storage, not sent to us automatically. Clearing site data in your browser removes all of them, and nothing here stops you using the site.

Assessment results stay in your browser. Taking a screening quiz does not create an account and does not send your answers to us unless you ask for the result by email. If you are on a shared computer, clearing site data removes them.
Analytics
These tell us which pages people read and where they struggle. We use them in aggregate — to decide what to write and what to fix, not to build a profile of you.

Advertising
These let us measure whether an advert led to someone booking a session, and avoid showing adverts to people who already have. This is the category most people want to turn off, and the section below explains how.

We never attach a health condition, an assessment result, a therapist name or anything you have written to an advertising event. What is sent is that a booking or a sign-up happened, with contact details reduced to an irreversible hash.
Support and personalisation

How to turn these off
Every browser can block or delete cookies — look for Privacy or Site settings in its preferences. Blocking the analytics and advertising ones will not stop you booking a session or using any part of the site.
- Most browsers offer a “Do Not Track” or tracking-protection setting that covers the advertising cookies above.
- Google Analytics can be switched off across every site you visit with Google's opt-out add-on.
- Advert personalisation on Facebook and Instagram is controlled in your Meta ad preferences, and on Google in your Google ad settings.
