Voice-only sessions (camera off)

There's no separate voice session to book. Join as usual with your camera off; the microphone is still required.

There's no separate voice session to book on Mytherapist.ng. Every session is one call that supports both video and audio, and a voice-only session simply means joining with your camera off.

How to have a voice-only session

  1. Join as usual: tap "Join your session", then the call icon at the top of the chat. See join your therapy session.
  2. In the pre-call check, allow your microphone. This is required even for a voice-only call.
  3. Don't grant camera permission, or turn the camera off.
  4. Tap "Join Call". Your therapist can hear you clearly without video.

Switching during the call

You can turn your camera on or off at any time using the camera icon in the call. If your connection is weak, turning the camera off saves bandwidth and often fixes a choppy call.

Does my therapist need to know in advance?

There's no video-or-voice setting on a booking, so nothing tells your therapist which you'll use. If you'd rather not be on camera, just say so at the start of the session.

"Individual" and "Couples" are not video and voice

When you book, you choose a session type of individual or couples. That's the therapy format, not whether the call is video or audio. Video versus voice is only ever whether you turn your camera on. See book a couples session.

Microphone access is always required to join. If it's blocked you'll see "Microphone access is required to join the call." Allow it in your phone settings and rejoin.
