Future letters

Write a letter to your future self. Free, with up to 2 unopened letters at a time without Prime.

Updated 9 October 20261 min readBy the Mytherapist.ng support team

A future letter is a message you write to your future self in the Mytherapist.ng app, to be opened later. Future letters are free. Without Mytherapist.ng Prime you can keep up to 2 unopened letters at a time; Prime removes the limit.

Write a letter

  1. Open Tools and choose future letters.
  2. Write your letter to your future self.
  3. Save it. It stays sealed until it's time to open it.

The 2-letter limit

Without Prime, you can have 2 unopened letters at any one time. The limit counts unopened letters only. If you try to write a third while two are still sealed, the app says "Non-Prime users can keep up to 2 unopened future letters at a time. Upgrade to Prime to create more."

Prime members can keep as many unopened letters as they like. Prime Individual is ₦1,000 a month; see What Prime is and what it costs.

Common questions

  • Do I need Prime to write a future letter? No. The first 2 unopened letters are free for everyone.
  • Does my therapist see my letters? Future letters are written to yourself. If you want to share something with your therapist, use journaling, which lets you share an entry.
  • I'm told I can't create more. You already have 2 unopened letters and no Prime membership. Wait for one to open, or subscribe to Prime.

Future letters are a self-help tool, not a substitute for therapy. If you need urgent help, see If you need urgent help right now.
