The mood tracker

Log your mood on the slider, add emotions and reasons, see your history, and share it with your therapist if you want.

Updated 9 October 20262 min readBy the Mytherapist.ng support team

The mood tracker is free for everyone. You set how you feel on a slider, add emotions and reasons, and the app keeps a chart and history that you can share with your therapist if you choose. Only custom reasons need Mytherapist.ng Prime.

Log your mood

  1. Open the mood check-in on the Home screen, or go to Tools.
  2. Drag the vertical slider to set how you feel, from 0 to 100. The scale maps to a mood: sad, meh, neutral, content, happy, excited.
  3. Add up to 5 emotion chips, for example anxious, grateful or calm.
  4. Pick a reason from the built-in list, and write a note if you want.
  5. Save the entry.

Your history

The tracker keeps a chart and history you can view by day, week or month. If you used the older mood picker, your history carried over. The slider is the same feature, redesigned.

Share with your therapist

Your mood log stays with you unless you share it. Turn the share toggle on and your therapist sees your log on their side. Turn it off and they don't.

Reminders

Turning on a mood reminder schedules one check-in nudge, around 7pm the next day. It is not a standing daily alarm: each time you opt in, one reminder is scheduled. If reminders aren't reaching your phone, see Not getting notifications.

Custom reasons need Prime

The built-in reasons are free. Creating your own reason is a Prime feature; without Prime the app says "Only Prime users can create custom reasons." See What Prime is and what it costs.

The mood tracker is a self-help tool, not a substitute for therapy. If a low stretch is weighing on you, book a session. If you need urgent help, see If you need urgent help right now.
