Journaling

Write, edit and organise journal entries for free, share an entry with your therapist, and earn a streak reward.

Updated 9 October 20261 min readBy the Mytherapist.ng support team

Journaling in the Mytherapist.ng app is free. You write, edit and organise entries, optionally starting from a template, and you can share any entry with your therapist. Some premium templates are part of Mytherapist.ng Prime; the journaling itself needs no membership.

Write an entry

  1. Open Tools and choose the journal (you may also see it called Diary or Notes).
  2. Start a blank entry, or pick a template.
  3. Write, then save. You can edit and organise your entries later.

Templates

Templates give you a structure to start from. Most are free. Templates marked premium need Prime; everything else in journaling works without it. See What Prime is and what it costs.

Share an entry with your therapist

Sharing is optional and per entry. Choose share on an entry you want your therapist to see. Entries you don't share stay with you.

Keep a streak

Writing regularly builds a journaling streak. Keeping it up earns a "Consistency" reward, which includes a reschedule voucher. A voucher covers the fee on one reschedule, so you don't pay it from your wallet. This reward is for everyone, not a Prime perk. See Reschedule a session.

Common questions

  • Can I journal without Prime? Yes. Writing, editing, organising and sharing entries are all free.
  • Does my therapist see my journal automatically? No. They see only the entries you choose to share.
  • A template is locked. That template is part of Prime. Pick a free template or a blank entry, or subscribe.

Journaling is a self-help tool, not a substitute for therapy. If you need urgent help, see If you need urgent help right now.
