Booking, rescheduling and cancelling

Subscribe to your therapist

Keep the same hour with your therapist every week: four sessions a month at your therapist's plan price. The first month is charged when you subscribe.

If you see your therapist every week, a subscription keeps your hour. You pay one monthly price for four weekly sessions at the same time each week, and the sessions are booked and confirmed for you. One-time booking stays as it is; a subscription is an extra option, not a replacement.

Who can subscribe

  • You've had at least one completed session with the therapist. The Subscribe button appears on their profile after that.
  • The therapist offers subscriptions. Not every therapist does yet: it's by invitation, and each therapist opens the hours they want to keep for subscribers.
  • Your sessions with that therapist aren't already covered by an employer, EAP or HMO benefit. If they are, there's nothing to pay for, so no subscription is offered.
  • You don't have another subscription running. It's one at a time; cancel the other first.

What it costs

The price depends on the therapist's plan on Mytherapist.ng, not on their one-time session price, and it's shown on their profile before you choose an hour. Next to it you'll see what you save against four one-time sessions at their price for you. When a subscription wouldn't save you money, we don't show a saving, and you can still subscribe for the fixed hour.

The price you subscribe at stays the same for as long as the subscription runs, even if the plan's price changes later.

How to subscribe

  1. Open your therapist's profile and tap Subscribe.
  2. Pick one of the hours they've opened to subscribers. Times show in your own time zone. Picking an hour holds it for you for 10 minutes while you pay.
  3. Pay the first month from your wallet, with a saved card, or with a new card. Later months come from the same place; you can change that under Subscription.
  4. Tick to agree to the rules below, then confirm.

Your four sessions appear under Therapy straight away, already accepted, one a week at your hour. Your therapist is told too.

The rules

These are different from one-time bookings, so read them before you subscribe.

  • You can't move or cancel a subscription session. The fixed hour is the point. If you need a different time, see billing, cancelling and switching.
  • A session you miss isn't refunded. If your therapist was there and you weren't, the session counts and the therapist is paid for the hour they kept.
  • A session your therapist can't hold is added to the end of your month, so you still get four.
  • The next month is charged three days before your first week without a paid session. We remind you three days before that, so you always have about a week's notice of a charge. Nothing more is charged once you've cancelled.

Where to see it

Subscription, under the Therapy tab, shows your therapist, your hour, this month's sessions, the next charge and how you pay. Each session also appears in your schedule like any other, and you join it the same way. See Join your session.

A subscription is a standing weekly appointment, paid a month at a time. If your weeks are unpredictable, one-time booking may suit you better.
