6 licensed therapists for sleep and somatic symptoms
Licensed therapists for nights you cannot sleep through and days spent in a body that hurts, aches or races when every test comes back normal. Sessions by video, voice or chat.
Focused support
You have done the tests. The ECG was fine, the ulcer medicine did not help, the headaches have no cause, and you still cannot sleep past 3am. Somatic symptoms are real symptoms in the body that stress, anxiety, trauma or low mood produce or make worse: chest tightness, internal heat, palpitations, pain, dizziness, fatigue. Insomnia often sits alongside them, and the two feed each other. In Nigeria these are the symptoms most people take to a hospital, a chemist or a prayer house first. The therapists here are often the last stop, and should be an earlier one.
Sessions happen inside the Mytherapist.ng app, by video, voice or chat. For sleep, you will keep a simple diary between sessions; for body symptoms, you will track what makes them better and worse. You book and pay in the app. Your therapist works alongside your doctor, not instead of them, and will want to know what has been ruled out.
This page suits people with insomnia that has lasted more than a month, people who sleep but wake exhausted, anyone with recurring nightmares or sleep paralysis, shift workers, and people whose body symptoms have been checked and found to have no medical cause but are still very real. It also suits people with a chronic illness such as sickle cell, diabetes or hypertension where stress is making it harder to manage.
A first session covers your sleep pattern or symptoms in detail, what you have tried, what the doctors have said, and what is going on in your life around them. For insomnia, the main approach is CBT for insomnia (CBT-I), which usually works within four to eight sessions. Browse the therapists below to compare backgrounds and rates.
Each therapist below is licensed and verified. Read their background and rates, then book by video, voice or chat.

Good to know
For most long-term insomnia, yes. CBT for insomnia (CBT-I) is the recommended first treatment worldwide and works better than sleeping tablets over time. It resets the link between your bed and sleep, fixes the habits and worries that keep you awake, and usually takes four to eight sessions. The therapists here do not prescribe; if you are already on sleep medication, tell them and keep your doctor informed.
Yes. Nothing wrong means no disease was found, not that you are imagining it. Stress and anxiety produce real physical symptoms through the nervous system. Therapy helps you understand the pattern, calm the body's alarm, stop the checking and fear that make symptoms louder, and get your life back even while some symptoms remain.
Both respond to therapy. Recurring nightmares, especially after trauma, can be treated with imagery rehearsal, where you rewrite the dream while awake. Sleep paralysis is frightening but harmless, and understanding it, plus better sleep habits, reduces how often it happens. Our post on sleep paralysis explains it.
Yes, with one limit. What you tell your therapist stays between you. The exception is a risk to life: if your therapist believes there's a real and immediate risk of serious harm to you or to someone else, including a child, they may need to act on it. That can mean contacting emergency services or someone who can reach you. They'll tell you when they're doing this, wherever it's safe to.
Each therapist sets their own rate, from ₦7,500 a session. Some therapists offer a student rate or a free first consultation, and it shows on their profile below.
