56 licensed therapists for relationship and marriage counselling
Licensed counsellors who work with couples and with people sorting out a relationship on their own. Sessions by video, voice or chat, together or separately, from anywhere in Nigeria.
Focused support
Relationship problems rarely announce themselves. They show up as the same argument on repeat, silence at dinner, a phone that is always face down, in-laws who have more say than you do, money fights, a sex life that has gone quiet, or the slow question of whether to stay. Marriage counselling gives the two of you a third person in the room whose only job is the relationship. Many of the therapists here also see people on their own who are deciding what to do about a partner, a breakup or a pattern they keep repeating.
Most of the therapists on this page see couples. You can join a video session from the same room, or from two different cities if one of you has travelled or moved abroad. Voice and chat are there for people who cannot be on camera. You book and pay inside the Mytherapist.ng app, and the session is private.
This page suits couples who are fighting more than talking, couples recovering from cheating, people planning to marry who want to sort things out first, anyone dealing with in-laws or family pressure around the marriage, and anyone whose heartbreak is not healing. A counsellor will not take sides or tell you to leave or to stay; they help the two of you understand what is going on and decide for yourselves.
The first session usually covers how you met, what has changed, what each of you wants from counselling, and the ground rules. Some counsellors then see each partner alone once before continuing together. Browse the counsellors below, check who sees couples, compare rates, and book when you are both ready, or when you are.
Each therapist below is licensed and verified. Read their background and rates, then book by video, voice or chat.

Good to know
Yes, with one limit. What you tell your therapist stays between you. The exception is a risk to life: if your therapist believes there's a real and immediate risk of serious harm to you or to someone else, including a child, they may need to act on it. That can mean contacting emergency services or someone who can reach you. They'll tell you when they're doing this, wherever it's safe to. In couples sessions, what is said in the room is shared between the two of you. If the counsellor also sees you separately, ask them at the start how they handle what each partner tells them alone; most agree a clear rule so no one is holding a secret the other does not know about.
Yes. Many people start marriage counselling on their own, and it still helps: you understand your part in the pattern, decide what you want, and learn how to raise things at home differently. Partners who refused at first often join once they see it is not about blame.
Yes. Video sessions work with the two of you in different rooms, cities or countries. Tell the counsellor when you book so they can plan for it.
It can, if both of you want to try. The work is about understanding what happened, handling the hurt without new wounds, and rebuilding trust in small, checkable steps. It does not guarantee the marriage survives; some couples use counselling to separate well. Our post on rebuilding trust after cheating is a good place to start.
Many counsellors here do. Premarital sessions cover money, family, faith, children, sex and conflict before they become fights. Check each profile, or mention it when you book.
Each therapist sets their own rate, from ₦4,000 a session. Couples sessions are priced separately on each profile. Some therapists offer a student rate or a free first consultation.
