7 licensed therapists for CBT and skills-based therapy
Licensed therapists trained in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and related skills-based approaches. Structured, practical sessions by video, voice or chat.
Focused support
Cognitive behavioural therapy, or CBT, works on the link between what you think, what you do and how you feel. It is structured and practical: you and your therapist agree goals, learn to catch the thoughts that drive anxiety, low mood or anger, test them against what is actually true, and change the behaviours that keep the problem going, such as avoiding, checking or withdrawing. It is one of the most researched talking therapies in the world.
CBT suits online delivery well. Sessions happen inside the Mytherapist.ng app, by video, voice or chat, and the between-session tasks, such as thought records or small experiments, are done in your real life, which is where change happens. You book and pay in the app.
This page suits people who want a clear method and a time frame, who like to understand why they feel what they feel, and who are willing to do homework. It is well suited to anxiety, panic, depression, anger, insomnia, habits and addictions, and the stress that comes with work. It is less suited to people who mainly want open-ended space to talk, which other therapists here offer.
A first session sets goals and maps the problem: the situations, thoughts, feelings and behaviours involved. Your therapist explains the model, and you leave with something to try. Courses often run six to sixteen weekly sessions. Browse the therapists below to compare backgrounds and rates.
Each therapist below is licensed and verified. Read their background and rates, then book by video, voice or chat.

Good to know
A typical course is six to sixteen weekly sessions, depending on the problem. Panic and specific fears often need fewer; long-standing depression or several problems at once need more. CBT is designed to end, with you keeping the skills.
Each session has a shape: a quick check-in, a review of last week's task, work on one problem using the CBT model, and a new task for the week. Expect to write things down and to practise between sessions. It is collaborative; your therapist is a coach, not a judge.
Yes. CBT is one of the best-evidenced treatments for mild to moderate depression and is as effective as medication for many people, with gains that last longer. For severe depression it is usually combined with medication from a doctor.
The research says yes, for most problems, as long as you do the between-session work. Video or chat sessions inside the app make it easier to keep weekly appointments, which matters more than the room you sit in.
Yes, with one limit. What you tell your therapist stays between you. The exception is a risk to life: if your therapist believes there's a real and immediate risk of serious harm to you or to someone else, including a child, they may need to act on it. That can mean contacting emergency services or someone who can reach you. They'll tell you when they're doing this, wherever it's safe to.
Each therapist sets their own rate, from ₦20,000 a session. Some therapists offer a student rate or a free first consultation, and it shows on their profile below.
